Mrs PD Dr. Ildikó Bellér-Hann has accepted the chair on "Modern Cultures and Societies of Western China and Central Asia" at the Department of Regional and Cross-Cultural Studies of the University of Copenhagen   .

Currently, Dr. Bekim Agai is substitute professor for Islamic Studies at the Oriental Institute.  He is standing in for Professor Jürgen Paul, who was awarded a research semester funded by the German Research Society (DFG) and dedicated to research on Local Lordship in Muslim Central Asia and Eastern Iran, 10th-14th centuries.

 Dr. James Thompson accepted an invitation by the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Zürich to be a guest scholar for the academic year 2009-2010 in order to conduct research related to his project The Translation of Human Rights: A Praxis-Theoretical Approach to the Origin of Values. Additionally, he is working with researchers at the University of Fribourg.
